Practicing Tips and Videos
As with everything in life, if you want to get better at something you have to practice. It can be hard sometimes to take time out of your day at home to practice, but no matter your dancing level it is important to go over movements outside of class. LCHD has a YouTube channel updated frequently where you can view the Highland dances for help in practicing. Also linked are a few practice videos from other Highland dancers to help you practice.

How to Tie a Highland Ghillie Video:
It is very important for Highland dancers to wear ghillies while dancing to support their feet. Ghillies should fit snuggly, in a size generally smaller than street shoe. There are many different ways to tie ghillies, however some methods of tying can cut off circulation or come untied easily while dancing. Please make sure that your ghillies are not tied around your ankle and rather wrap around your ghillie or are tied over the top of the shoe. Your teacher can show you different methods of tying your ghillies, as well as the video linked above.
